Navigation
The navigation section, or the navigation menu, is crucially important for the user to easily and quickly finding the specific category or final page to visit on the website.
This is indirectly very important for SEO as a poor navigation often causes the user to bounce out of the website if they doesn't find what they are looking for, potentially resulting in ranking penalty.
How to set up an optimized navigation
For mobile, the de-facto navigation is simply to use a navigation drawer.
For desktop, the recommended solution is either a horisontal menu navigation or a similar navigation drawer as on mobile, and which is seen on larger websites like Amazon.
As a rule of thumb, the number of menu links in a horisontal menu navigation should not exceed eight, as our brain has difficulties absorbing too many such broad "entrances" to a website's actual content. With that said, the number of menu items of course, as with everything in UX, depends on several factors.
